This is a 2-hour guided tour in the Basilica of Santa Croce, the resting place of great figures of Italy and rich in works of art from the Middle Ages to the 19th century.

The tombs of great persons of Italy such as Michelangelo, Galileo Galilei or Machiavelli are located right here. In the Basilica of Santa Croce, you can also see the cenotaph of Dante Alighieri, or his funeral monument, and many other tombs which house great artists such as Lorenzo Ghiberti and his son Vittorio, the creators of the 15th-century Gates of Paradise in the Baptistery of Florence.

Santa Croce is also where great Florentine families wanted to have a monumental chapel to mark their social status. Among them also the Pazzi family, bitter enemies of the Medici family, who owned the largest chapel in the Basilica, built by Filippo Brunelleschi, Donatello and Luca della Robbia.
