This is a 1.5-hour small group guided tour inside Palazzo Vecchio, a symbol of Florence's history. You will travel back in time and discover the Medici family's residence during the Renaissance period.

 

With your guide, you will enter Palazzo Vecchio without waiting in long lines.

 

The building you are going to visit was built in the late 1200s to represent the second seat of the Florentine Republic. In 1500 following the political rise of the Medici family, the palace became the residence of Grand Duke Cosimo I, who became lord, as well as the owner of the city. During the 1800s, the period of capital Florence, it became the seat of the Italian Parliament. Today, it is the seat of the Municipality of Florence.

 

Entering the museum, you will visit private rooms of Grand Dukes of the Medici family and rooms of the Government of the Italian Republic.

 

Then the guide will show you Salone dei 500, the main attraction of the building, as well as the halls and apartments of the Grand Duchess Eleonora of Toledo.

 

You will aslo visit other important rooms, such as the Gigli room, the Geographical Maps room, and the last Chancellor of the Republic room.
