The Retiro Park is the most important green area in Madrid, and a visit to the Spanish capital would not be complete without a walk through this wonderful green lung located in the center of the city.

The walking tour will begin with a stop at the Cibeles Palace. This lovely structure, located at the intersection of Paseo del Prado and Calle Alcalá, was constructed in the Jardines del Buen Retiro.

After exploring the interior with the guide, you may proceed to the roof and take in a breathtaking view of the Gran Vía. You’ll never forget the image of Madrid you get from this point. Don’t forget to take your camera!

The Count-Duke of Olivares designed the Jardines del Buen Retiro in the 17th century, which became a municipal park in 1868. The guide explains the historical context behind the park’s attractions, such as the Big Pond, Crystal Palace, Fountain of the Galapagos, and statue of the Fallen Angel.

Discover why this park is known as Madrid’s lung by losing yourself in its beautiful places, surrounded by trees and animals. After the tour, you can stay in the park because it has numerous corners where you can sit down to rest and get away from the city’s stress!
