Heritage & Street Art Walking Tour in Bangkok

From GBP £41.50
  • Duration: 4 Hours (approx.)
  • Location: Bangkok
  • Product code: PNVJ9U

This fascinating half-day tour takes you away from the masses to explore another side of Bangkok! The historic neighbourhoods of Charoen Krung and Talad Noi are rich in historical and cultural heritage.

After meeting your knowledgeable local guide, you'll head to Charoen Krung Road - the first paved road in the Thai capital, built more than 150 years ago to serve the fast-growing community of foreigners who settled on the bank of the Chao Phraya River. It was built so that foreign diplomats and foreign traders were able to easily visit the King and the government offices.

The area was (and still is) a melting pot of cultures: Chinese merchants settling down building shophouses next to European diplomats and Persian traders. Your guide will walk your through it's long history and show you some of the striking street art that decorate the walls today.

Next up, visit Talad Noi (meaning ‘small market’) - part of Chinatown and one of Bangkok’s longest surviving traditional communities. This lovely community is home to some hidden gems and houses dating back more than 100 years.

During our walking tour along shophouses, ancient buildings, and luxury hotels, between temples, churches and mosques you can still breathe in the trace of its heydays. Your guide will also treat you to a small meal from one of our favourite street food spots - the perfect way to top off your tour!
