Rome represents the pinnacle of history. Thousands of Jews were isolated for centuries in ancient homes. Almost nothing remains now. Even so, if you walk through the ghetto's alleys, which are home to many monuments, buildings, and narrow streets, you'll see glimpses of Jewish history and discover that some of that inheritance has been passed down to their descendants even today.

Our guide will lead you through the ghetto's alleys, where you will see remnants of Imperial Rome. This includes visiting the Theatre of Marcellus, also known as the "Small Colosseum," and the Portico of Octavia, the birthplace of the Jewish-Roman dish, fish broth!

Retrace the history of the Jews in Rome from antiquity to the present while keeping the Holocaust victims in mind at all times. A truly significant testament are the concrete "stumbling stones" (cubes with brass plates attached) nailed into the floor. Additionally, you'll have the chance to sample some classic Jewish-Roman dishes like the tart with ricotta cheese and tart cherries or the delicious artichokes "alla giudia."

Visit the 19th-century synagogue as well and end your tour in Piazza Mattei with the sound of the Renaissance Turtle Fountain.
