The Reina Sofia Art Centre, which receives over 3.5 million visitor each year, houses the best Spanish painters of the 20th century.
The museum, featuring 1,653 paintings and 707 sculptures, as well as a plethora of documentation, graphic art, and pictures, is best known for the ‘Guernica’. Pablo Picasso’s prolific work signifies and is an internationally known icon for Spain’s transition to democracy.
Walking through this artwork abode is a delight in itself; with beautiful gardens and vaulted hallways, it doesn’t even take into account the artworks inside. With over 20 Dali pieces, a room dedicated to Joan Miro’s paintings, and perhaps Spain’s most famous artwork, ‘Guernica,’ this modern art museum is a wonderland of art!

Due to conservation measures, the exhibition rooms must be kept at a constant temperature of 21º Celsius. Given the temperature inside the Museo, an item of warm clothing in summer is recommended.
