Barcelona Gracia Neighborhood Food Tour

In this 3-hour food journey in the charming Gracia neighborhood away from the bustling centre, you will experience true Catalan flavour and culture in one of the most cosmopolitan cities in Spain like Barcelona.

This neighborhood used to be its own village and has held onto those roots even more than a century after being swallowed up by Barcelona’s urban sprawl. 

The first stop is a traditional bodega since 1939, where generations of Gracia residents come for everything from breakfast to aperitif. You will indulge in a selection of Catalan classics with a glass of vermouth. 

Having discovered the roots of the neighborhood, we will head to a small Mustafa’s Syrian pastry shop, one of the neighborhood’s most beloved bakeries that shows Gracia’s blend of cultures. Be ready to take all of the scent of freshly baked treats when walking through its door!

With some pastries in hand, you will keep walking and learn about the surprising Middle Eastern influences on desserts in Spain.  

Next, we will be off to a deli famous for Spain’s cured ham. See the master carver slice cured ham, and enjoy a selection of charcuterie and Catalan cheeses paired with a crisp glass of cava. Learn the difference between cava and the famous French cousin, champagne.

Then make our way to a beloved restaurant specializing in Catalan and Valencian food. Here you will dive in savory coques de dacsa (a taco-like dish made of dough with sun-dried tomato, tuna, hard boiled eggs and anchovy in the middle), and fideuá (seafood noodle, similar to paella) with red or white wine.   

The final stop serves you the neighborhood’s best Catalan-style hot chocolate and homemade sweets that are perfect for dipping.
